Kurukulle La Dakini de la Magia y el Encanto

Kurukulla es una de las diosas budistas originarias del país de Oddiyana. Kurukulla se traduce en tibetano como Rigiyedma (rig-byed-ma) que significa “Aquella que es la causa del conocimiento”. Ella está asociada con el rey Indrabhuti. A veces también se la llama Red Tara (sgrol-ma dmar-po) o Tarodbhava Kurukulla, ‘La Kurukulla que surge de Tara’. Se la considera la Deidad del Magnetismo.

Es muy popular entre los tibetanos por su función mágica de encantamiento (dbang gi ‘phrin-las) y hechizar a la gente para someterla a su poder (dbang du bsdud). Ella es preeminentemente la diosa budista de la brujería y el encantamiento, pero en un sentido real, representa el empoderamiento de lo femenino en un entorno patriarcal.

Como Tara Verde se invoca para la protección de varios peligros y amenazas, generalmente los ocho grandes terrores y miedos; Kurukulle puede ser llamada a ejercer sus poderes de encantamiento y hechicería para traer bajo su poder a esos espíritus malignos, demonios y humanos que trabajan contra el bienestar de la humanidad y la evolución espiritual. En el Tíbet, también se la llama cuando se inicia la construcción de un nuevo monasterio, cuando se emprende un nuevo negocio o empresa, etc. someter y subyugar todas las fuerzas demoníacas y humanas que se interponen en el camino de uno.

En Sadhanamala, aparece una lista de ocho grandes siddhis o poderes mágicos adquiridos a través de su práctica:
Khadga-siddhi; poder para ser invencible en la batalla con una espada.
Anjana-siddhi; poder para eliminar la falta de visión ordinaria usando un ungüento mágico.
Padalepa-siddhi; poder para ser rápido de pie usando ungüento mágico.
Antardhana-siddhi; poder de hacerse invisible.
Rasayana-siddhi; poder para el rejuvenecimiento y la longevidad a través de la obtención del exilir de la vida a través de un proceso alquímico.
Khechara-siddhi; poder para levitar o para volar a través del cielo.
Bhucara-siddhi; poder para moverse a través de la tierra, las montañas y las paredes sólidas.
Patala-siddhi; poder para tener mando sobre el espíritu del inframundo.

En este caso, se enfoca la práctica de Kurukulle para la magnetización, mediante la cual seremos capaces de magnetizar todos los siddhis. A nivel externo, magnetizaremos todo aquello que deseamos; a nivel interno, magnetizaremos nuestra mente en la forma de la deidad; y a nivel secreto, magnetizaremos nuestra mente en la naturaleza innata.

Según los textos, Kurukulla tiene dieciséis años porque dieciséis es el número ideal que significa perfección. Ella tiene una cara hermosa con un cuerpo voluptuoso y seductor. Ella es de color rojo por su función mágica de encantamiento y magnetismo. Tiene un solo rostro porque encarna la sabiduría no dual más allá de las distinciones convencionales del bien y el mal. Está desnuda porque no está condicionada por pensamientos discursivos.

Tiene cuatro brazos debido a cuatro estados mentales inconmensurables, a saber, amor, compasión, alegría y ecuanimidad. Sostiene un arco y una flecha entrelazados con flores porque puede dar lugar a pensamientos de deseo en la mente de los demás. En sus otras manos, sostiene un gancho que los atrae y los convoca a su presencia y un lazo para atarlos a su voluntad. Lleva adornos de huesos humanos que representan las cinco perfecciones y ella misma encarna la sexta perfección de la sabiduría. Lleva un collar de cincuenta cabezas humanas recién servidas mientras vence cincuenta emociones negativas. Se la ve bailando ya que es muy enérgica y activa. Su actividad compasiva se manifiesta tanto en Samsara como en Nirvana. Ella baila pisando un cadáver humano masculino mientras encanta y subyuga al demonio del ego. Se yergue sobre un disco solar rojo porque su naturaleza es caliente y está inflamada de pasión y se yergue sobre una flor de loto roja porque es pura visión de conciencia iluminada.

Kurukulla is one of the Buddhist goddesses originating from the country of Oddiyana. Kurukulla is translated in Tibetan as Rigiyedma (rig-byed-ma) meaning “ She who is the cause of Knowledge”. She is associated with King Indrabhuti. She is also sometimes called Red Tara(sgrol-ma dmar-po) or Tarodbhava Kurukulla, ‘The Kurukulla who arises from Tara’. She is considered the Deity of Magnetism.

She is very popular among Tibetans for her magical function of enchantment (dbang gi ‘phrin-las) and bewitching of the people in order to bring them under one’s power (dbang du bsdud). She is pre-eminently the Buddhist goddess of witchcraft and enchantment but in real sense, she represents empowerment of the feminine in a patriarchal milieu.

As Green Tara is invoked for the protection from various dangers and threats, generally the eight great terrors and fears; Kurukulle may be called upon to exercise her powers of enchantment and bewitchment to bring under her power those evil spirits, demon and humans working against the welfare of humanity and spiritual evolution. In Tibet, she also is called upon when commencing the building of new monastery, undertaking new business or enterprise etc,. to subdue and subjugate all demonic and human forces that stands in ones’ path.

In Sadhanamala, occurs list of eight great siddhis or magical powers acquired through her practice:
Khadga-siddhi; power to be invincible in battle with a sword.
Anjana-siddhi; power to remove ordinary lack of sight using a magical ointment.
Padalepa-siddhi; power to be swift of foot using magical ointment.
Antardhana-siddhi; power to become invisible.
Rasayana-siddhi; power to rejuvenation and long-life through obtaining the exilir of life by way of an alchemical process.
Khechara-siddhi; power to levitate or to fly through sky.
Bhucara-siddhi; power to move through earth, mountains and solid walls.
Patala-siddhi; power to have command over the spirit of the underworld.

In this case, the focus is Kurukulle’s practice for magnetization, by which we will be able to magnetize all siddhis. Externally, we will magnetize everything that we wish; internally, we will magnetize our mind in the form of the deity; and at a secret level, we will magnetize our mind in the innate nature.

According to the texts, Kurukulla is sixteen years old because sixteen is ideal number signifying perfection. She has beautiful face with voluptuous body and alluring. She is red in color for her magical function of enchantment and magnetism. She is single faced because she embodies non-dual wisdom beyond conventional distinctions of good and evil. She is naked is because she is unconditioned by discursive thoughts.

She has four arms because of four immeasurable states of mind, namely, love, compassion, joy and equanimity. She holds bow and arrow entwined with flowers because she can give rise to thoughts of desire in others minds. On her other hands, she holds hook that attracts and summons them into her presence and noose to bind them to he will. She wears human bone ornaments signifying the five perfections and she herself embodies the sixth perfection of wisdom. She wears a necklace of fifty freshly served human heads as she vanquishes fifty negative emotions. She is seen dancing as she is very energetic and active. Her compassionate activity manifests in both Samsara and Nirvana. She dances treading upon a male human corpse as she enchants and subjugates demon of ego. She stands on red sun disc because her nature is hot and enflamed with passion and she stands upon red lotus blossom because she is pure vision of enlightened awareness.
